Brittany J. Reed, MS, LPC, EMDR-T

I’m Brittany (she/her), a therapist who specializes in supporting women navigating people pleasing, anxiety, overthinking, and more.

Teen counseling in Boise

I support folks who feel weighed down by anxiety, low self-esteem, people pleasing, and overwhelm, people who are tired of holding it all together, and longing to feel more grounded, confident, and connected to who they are.

I also support individuals navigating Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), depression, perfectionism, relationship stressors, life changes, and trauma-related experiences. My work is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and care, creating space for you to better understand yourself, reconnect with what matters to you, and manage anxious thoughts without letting them take over your life.

Who I see

I strive to support you in (re)discovering who you are beyond the patterns that have led to people-pleasing, anxiety, and overthinking. Together, we’ll explore how your experiences have shaped you, reconnect with your values and needs, and build greater self-trust, self-compassion, and self-acceptance.

My approach is integrative and collaborative, drawing from EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal Theory, Compassion-Focused Therapy, emotion-focused approaches, and trauma-informed, strengths-based, feminist, and systemic frameworks. As an EMDRIA-trained EMDR therapist, I often weave somatic and mindfulness-based practices into our work.

Therapy is a space to slow down, get curious, and reconnect with what matters most. I’m honored to walk alongside you as you create a life that feels more authentic and more like your own.

How I work

You’re looking for a therapist who is genuine, direct, laid-back, and living this messy, beautiful human life right alongside you, while also being your biggest cheerleader.

I’ll challenge you toward your goals while helping you practice compassion when life doesn’t go as planned. Therapy doesn’t have to look like sitting perfectly still and talking. Often time, my clients (& me too!) are coloring, and fidgeting while talking about your anxious thoughts.

All are welcome here. My space is LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, size-inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally accepting.

We might be a great fit if...

When I’m not in sessions, you’ll likely find me spending time with my fiancé, friends, and my two dogs (Canela & Cosmo), adventuring outdoors, or reading a book at a local coffee shop.

As a recovering people pleaser, I understand how hard it is to take the first step to take care of yourself. I love my therapist and still go to therapy (all therapists should go to therapy!). My own experience navigating neurodivergence and PMDD has allowed me to create an accepting and authentic environment for folks to share their experiences. I am honored to walk alongside folks as they start to choose and understand themselves.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Idaho (LPC-10483).
